HOW DO I KNOW WHICH DERMAL FILLER IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Dermal Filler treatments are unique and tailored to each individual. Upon evaluation with one of our specialists, we will determine which Dermal Filler is best for you to give you your desired results.

PROCEDURE AND RECOVERY

Before an injection, you will receive a topical local anesthetic cream if you choose, free of charge.

Also, fillers are formulated with lidocaine, a local anesthetic that will further improve comfort during treatment. The filler is injected beneath the skin's surface to lift the soft tissue and improve wrinkles, lines and folds. Our nurse injectors will skillfully deliver the ideal amount of filler to create a natural look.   Post-treatment bruising and swelling tend to be minimal and can easily be covered with sunscreen and make-up.  Staying away from blood thinners like fish oil or Ibuprofen the week before is advised to lessen the chance of natural bruising.  

Not a "down time" procedure; not great to do the night directly before a big birthday dinner, we want you to look and feel your best;)

  • Patients should avoid taking Aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s Wort or high doses of vitamin E supplements for one week prior to treatment.  This will help to minimize bruising or bleeding at the injection site

  • Dermal Fillers : Post Care Instructions

    What to avoid:

    ● Manipulation/any pressure or poking to the treated area for 6 hours post-treatment.Leave yourself be! This can increase irritation and move product out of the area that it was placed.

    ● Medication/supplements that can increase bleeding. This includes Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Fish oil etc.

    ● Vigorous/strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours post-treatment.

    ● Hot tubs.

    What to do:

    ● Intermittently apply ice with care to the area as needed.

    ● Wash gently : we recommend our Alchemy MD Green Gelee; it increases circulation by stimulating white blood cell activity, thereby decreasing the amount of healing time & reducing inflammation. It is $30 OFF with a filler treatment.

    ● Arnica can be taken orally pre+post treatment for reducing chances of bruising or swelling; we sell Arnica tablets here @ Alchemy, as well as topical ointment.

    ● Sleep with head propped up on a few pillows to reduce swelling (sounds relaxing, we know...But it helps!).

    ● Try your best to sleep on your back.

    ● Antihistamine (Benadryl, Zyrtec etc) can be taken in the evening to reduce swelling the next day:)

    What to know:

    ● The Alchemists do their very best to cause as little local trauma to the tissues as possible, however reactions can vary greatly from person to person (bad bruises happen to good people;), a laser treatment can be administered to help resolve bruising faster. This is free of charge, and The Alchemists pleasure, just give us a call.

    ● It is normal to experience some lumps+bumps for the first 2 weeks. If there is an area of particular concern, please call the office to be evaluated.
